Summary
Dafne Keen will roleplay Jecki Lon inStar Wars : The Acolyte , but her role as a Jedi Padawan will be very unlike from Anakin Skywalker’s . Jeki Lon was a Theelin / human hybridwho began her time as a Padawan somewhere near the remainder ofthe High Republic earned run average . Her instructor , Master Sol , was one of the most well - respected and experiencedcharacters inThe Acolyte . Because of his position , Jecki had a much dissimilar relationship with Sol than Anakin Skywalker did with Obi - Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy .
In an interview withEntertainment Weekly , Keen say that Jecki Lon has a good appreciation of the traditional Master and Apprentice relationship between a Padawan and their instructor .
I ’d say she is a very dedicated Padawan . She ’s definitely in awe of him in a very sort of sweet direction . She recall the sheer world of him in a way that I recall they have a very odoriferous relationship , but she ’s much more cognisant of the agency difference of opinion than , for example , Obi - Wan and Anakin . She ’s very much like , ' No , he ’s the master and I ’m the Padawan and he ’s pure . And everything he say , I have to follow to the T. '
In contrast to the secretive , sibling - similar relationship between Obi - Wan and Anakin , the relationship between Jecki Lon and Master Sol seems to be much more formal . That would make sense , givenMaster Sol is a much more accomplished and experient teacher than Obi - Wan was when he took Anakin as his Padawan . He would likely have instill more length between himself and his apprentice than Obi - Wan did , and emphasize the Jedi ’s lessons on the danger of adherence more . That made Sol ’s family relationship with Jecki more traditional , and it might have even made her a better educatee than Anakin .
The upcoming Star Wars show The Acolyte will take the enfranchisement into the deluxe High Republic era , but what mysteries await in the Jedi ’s prosperous age ?
Is Jecki A Better Padawan Than Anakin?
Some of Anakin ’s main flaws as a Padawan were his self-will and foolhardiness , attributes that often caused Obi - Wan dismay . Much of that stemmed from his belief that he have a go at it better than Obi - Wan and the Jedi Order . Jecki Lon , on the other hand , seems to understand that Sol is much more knowing and experienced than she is , and defers to his discernment because of it . That likely made her more loyal to the Jedi Order than Anakin was , and it could have allowed her to con more from her time as a Padawan than Anakin did .
Even though Jecki Lon seems to be a better Padawan than Anakin , she may have some of the same problems he did . Master Sol ’s teaching style encouraged her to avoid attachments , but Keen hinted that Jecki would forge close bond paper to her fellow Jedi . In the audience , Keen said , " A lot of Jecki was created through her relationship with the mass that circumvent her , so there was a set of that of us talking about what her bond with the other Jedi are . " That , combined with her reverence for her master copy , could betoken that Jecki ’s role inThe Acolytemight be more similar to Anakin ’s than different .
