Summary
Shōgunstar Anna Sawai breaks down the emotional scenes between her lineament Toda Mariko and John Blackthrone ( Cosmo Jarvis ) in episode 9 . The two characters have had a complex relationship throughout the series as they navigate their tone for one another while fulfilling their respective duty . He ’s going and he ’s renegade and all that , but possibly in that view , that particular scene , she sees him finally bear what is . It ’s not what he want , but he ’s accepting of it , so I think that that is the moment where she realizes how he ’s changed .

Despite The Scene Being One Of The Show’s Darkest

It induce the later tantrum of physical affair between Mariko and Blackthorne experience more earned , with Blackthorne and Mariko becoming true pardner before the tragical final scene inShōgunepisode 9 .
