Summary
Lord Toranga ’s war is coming in the wake of last calendar week ’s tragic Osaka fire , in the dramaticShogunepisode 10 poke . Episode 9 saw Lady Mariko playing her part in Toranaga ’s plans , and at last meeting the fate she had long wished for . The stage is now set for a last showdown between Toranaga and Ishido , with all - out war as the seemingly inevitable outcome .
It ’s yet to be see if Toranaga can bring an destruction to the engagement with Ishido and the Council while avoiding further gore , but the newShogunepisode 10 trailer from FX seems to promise that a bloody fate likely await at least some ofShogun ’s part , as Toranaga ’s programme attain their endgame . The cartridge clip sees Ishido declaring that war is “ inevitable , ” and also sees Blackthorne , who indeed survived the effect of episode 9 , raising his articulation in defiance of Toranaga , whose program last calendar week led to a tragic fate for Mariko .
Why War Between Toranaga And Ishido May Not Be Inevitable
Ishido may think that war is the only result after the events ofShogunepisode 9 , climaxing with the blast on Mariko , Blackthorne and Toranaga ’s wives by shinobi assassins . Toranaga does not seem to conceive that war is inevitable , however , as he send Mariko to Osaka to pull wires the billet there in such a way as to expose Ishido to the rest of the nobles , and squeeze them to move against him and the Council of Regents .

A raving mad card in the comingShogunfinale is Ochiba , who arrest immense power in her role as mother of the Heir , and could serve impart about a passive resolution to the situation , one that would see Toranaga becoming shogun , and mingle Japan behind him . It ’s yet to be seen what roleBlackthornewill play in the coda , but his ira in the wake of episode 9 ’s events is made decipherable in the trailer , and it ’s far from sure that he will array behind Toranaga as his former lord ’s plan bear fruit .
