" I ’ve never done as much action and fight sequences as I did onStar Trek . And even Sonequa [ Martin - Green ] said that the fighting that she and I have , it ’s the longest battle that she ’s had on the five season ofDiscovery . And I am not an acrobatic person , so it was singular . I mother the first script , and in the first playscript , there ’s this battle . And I was like , ' Oh , I need to get the stunt coordinator ’s email because I need to tell him that I have not done anything like this before . ' "
" His name ’s Chris [ McGuire ] , he responded right off . We met up , and he ’s like , ' Look , you ’re doing yourself a disservice . You got this . Sonequa come , learns it in 15 minutes . I saw some of the ruined Cartesian product , and I was like , ' humans , we front so badass . It looks so nerveless . ' Again , Chris and his team , they ’re amazing , and they really held my manus through the full process . Our stunt doubling were amazing . Everybody was so supportive . And coming to these sets that are gorgeous , I think it ’s the combining of all these citizenry being really great at their jobs , and then you get the last thing , which I think is amazing . "
