“ Ever since [ I was ] five geezerhood quondam , I ’ve been fantasising about being a Jedi , like every kidskin , ” Suotamo tells Empire . “ When the tidings ‘ Jedi ’ was first mentioned [ in dialogue forThe Acolyte ] , I felt really excited – like a little kid who finally gets his favorite toy on his birthday . ”
This update is n’t only thrill for Suotamo , though;the introduction of Kelnacca also signals a shift inStar Wars’portrayal of Wookiees that is sure to be exciting .

Kelnacca’s Training Means He’s Very Different To Chewbacca
Chewbacca is no doubt an incredibleStar Warscharacter , but the newest Wookiee addition to the franchise is sure to be quite different . Chewbacca was a gay warrior and a consecrate Rebel and Resistance paladin throughout the original and sequel trilogies . However , he was also often prone to anger , reactive , and a morsel more willing to play fast and loose with the rules .
In contrast , Master Kelnacca will belike be a wise , correct Jedi Master . Whereas Chewbacca represented Wookiees as loud , powerful , and brazen , Master Kelnacca will show a very dissimilar side of the species . This is specially exciting becauseGeorge Lucas previously stated that there could be no Wookiee Jedi . It seems that with Master Kelnacca , Star Warsis change its tune about Wookiees as a species , for the proficient .
