Summary
Yabushige have the assassins into Osaka inShōgunepisode 9 , which do Lady Mariko ’s death and test he is the show ’s bighearted wildcard . A local lord fascinated by death , Yabushige saw himself in the eye of Ishido and Toranaga ’s war when a foreign ship arrived at his village . Yabushige ’s fate has been link to that of the Anjin since the beginning of the show , but his allegiances have not been as clear . As the most unpredictable of theShōguncharacters , Kashigi Yabushige poses a threat even to his ally .
Lady Mariko ’s deathat the end ofShōgunepisode 9may not have been that surprising considering she was willing to die to nail her mission , but it was a tragic moment notwithstanding . Had Yabushige not helped Ishido , Mariko might have leave Osaka in safetywhile still succeeding in causing instability at the castle . Unfortunately , neither Blackthorne nor Mariko were count on Yabushige ’s treachery . Rather than honoring his tariff to his lord , Kashigi Yabushige once again accepted a peck from Ishido .
Why Yabushige Let The Intruders Into Osaka In Shōgun Episode 9
Yabushigi was offered a deal by Ishido
Yabushige went to Osaka to describe back to Ishido and answer for his treachery on the matter of Nebara Jozen ’s death . Ishido was accusing Yabushige of conjure with Lord Toranaga against the Regents and taking part in the assassination of Jozen , which is why Yabushige had no pick but to devolve to Osaka . Yabushige believed he could tattle Ishido out of penalise him by extend the Anjin ’s armed service . Who Is Yabushige Really Loyal To?
Yabushigi has tried to play both sides
After nine episode , Shōgunhas proven that Yabushige is truehearted to no one but himself . While the Council of Regents holds some authority , Yabushige ’s duty should always be to his lord first . In other language , even when asked byIshido or Ochiba - no - katato do something , Yabushige should have been truehearted to Toranaga under any destiny . Instead , the character tried to dally both side and never abide by his obligation . As a effect , Yabushige “ change sides ” several times throughout the show and put himself at peril of being executed for treason at least twice .
Yabushige was part of Toranaga ’s council of warfare that put Crimson Sky in motion and later watched the Lord of Kanto annunciate his surrender . Before his death , Toda Hiromatsu commanded Yabushige to go to Osaka and surrender , which was part of Toranaga ’s plan to deceive Ishido into thinking the war was over . While Toranaga and those loyal to him likely perceive Yabushige as disposable and untrusty , none of them must have anticipated that he was going to help Ishido kill Lady Mariko and the surety . This was Yabushige ’s ultimate treachery .
